Do you have a budding actor or ham in your house? Have your children ever wanted to learn stage fighting or to sing on stage? Here is their chance!The Mountaineers Players will be offering two one-week camp sessions for young actors ages 9 - 14 (grouped to age and skill level) at the beautiful outdoor Kitsap Forest Theater. Workshop topics will include acting, stage combat, and singing and dancing for musical theater.
The first session will be July 7th-11th and will focus on Peter Pan. The second session will be July 14th-18th and will include a focus on Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. Mission Statement:Kitsap Forest Theater Youth Summer Program provides a supportive, safe, nurturing environment to: engage the imagination for youth ages 9-14, develop theatrical skills, encourage dedicated focus towards a discipline, increase self-confidence, develop cooperative skills, instill respect for others, and build an appreciation for the great out of doors. Bonus Stage Craft Program: Offered 4:00-5:30 daily: includes theatrical stage makeup and mask construction. A fee of $10 per day per child will be charged. You may sign up for one or more days. Please check which days on registration form. Weekly Classes Include:Developing acting skills and how be heard on an outdoor stage Fighting like an action film star with “fisty cuffs” or swords Learning the silly tricks of slap stick Dancing like Fred Astaire Singing like kids from High School Musical On the final day, the campers will perform a free presentation for their families!
