Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale featured Rodgers & Hammerstein's most beloved songs alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane. Although the original 'made for TV' version starring Julie Andrews was extremely popular, over time it became viewed as 'boring'. The original version was done in 1983 at the Forest Theater.
The production team of Trina Williamson, Linda Kappus, and Laura McFalane returned for a third time to put together an extremely great comic production.
This show as particularly unique because it was the first show in the history of the theater where the males out numbered the females.
Carin Young and Felix Coble played the somewhat eccentric version of Cinderella and her Prince Charming.
Cynthia Dario-Good came back from playing the librarian in Matilda to singing the part of the Fairy Godmother. In her previous performance she did not get a chance to show off her musical abilities.
