salmon safari Players logoEvery year during NovemberSalmon Safari seagoing salmon migrate from their feeding grounds to the rivers and streams of their birth. Chico Creek is the largest chum salmon run in Kitsap County.

Julie Shusterman (who also leads Kitsap Forest Adventure Camp) normally leads a special time in the forest and around Chico Creek to see the salmon returning "home" to spawn. She is not available this year to host, but you can still see the salmon with a trained docent.

The annual Kitsap Salmon Tours hosts salmon viewing at 8 different sites, including Chico Creek hosted by Keta Legacy Foundation on Saturday, November 1st from 11am to 3pm. Meet at Kitsap Cabin for their tours. You can also hike down to the theater and see the salmon swimming upstream behind the theater. Follow the Kitsap Salmon Tours link to see the other 7 locations hosting guided tours.

Here is Keta Legacy's announcement about the tours.
