Volunteer opportunities at the Kitsap Forest Theater
The Mountaineers Players are a volunteer organization. Many dedicated volunteers work thousands of hours to produce the quality shows that are presented at the Kitsap Forest Theater.
During shows we use volunteer ushers, parkers, ticket takers, ticket sellers, shuttle drivers for those that can't walk the trail, concessions sellers, cushion sellers, backstage help, etc.
To prepare for shows we need set builders with carpentry skills, set builders with painting skills, and those willing to learn. For costumes we need costume sewers. We also need help collecting props. We pay some on our production staff a small stipend, but it is the love of this venue that keeps them coming back.
The Kitsap Forest Theater property needs lot of volunteers to keep it functioning. We have work-parties throughout the year to cut firewood, rake roofs, spread gravel, dig trenches, clear trails, clean-out sheds, etc. We also need experienced carpenters, electricians and plumbers to help with projects year round.
Some of our volunteers have been with the Players for over 50 years. Their love of this place keeps them coming back year after year.
Please consider donating your time to help keep this place viable for the next generations of theater-goers. You'll enjoy the camaraderie and fun we have while working together for a common cause. And, since the theater and grounds are owned by The Mountaineers, a 501(c)(3) organization, you may be able to deduct your mileage and ferry fees on your income taxes. Please check with your tax advisor.
